Welcome to the Premier Arts and Science Charter School Title I page

Title I, Part A (Title I) of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, as amended (ESEA) provides financial assistance to school districts and/or schools with high numbers or high percentages of children from low-income families, to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards.

Title I programs are 100% federally funded and are designed to help children meet the state content and performance standards in reading, language arts, and mathematics. In Schools with 40% or more poverty, schools and/or school districts may use the funds to upgrade the entire curriculum of the school and are Schoolwide Programs. Premier Arts and Science Charter School operates “Schoolwide” programs only.

Title I Goals
  • Help students to achieve academic success in Reading/Language Arts and Mathematics.
  • Increase student performance in high poverty schools through school-wide reform; Build teacher capacity through quality professional development.
  • Enhance parents’ abilities to help their children succeed through quality parental involvement activities.
Title I Parent Involvement
Families have a major influence on their children’s achievement in school and through life. When schools, families, and community groups work together to support learning, children tend to do better in school, stay in school longer, and like school more. Premier Arts and Science Charter School, together with parents, teachers, and administrative staff, has developed a Parent Involvement Policy that is designed to increase communication and promote a partnership between our School and parents, and engage families in helping educate their children.
